1111!

1st post of the year! Hehe. I haven't done this in awhile so here's a long-picture-story-telling post to start the year off with! :D

The first day of my Christmas leave last week, Alvin woke me up at noon saying he was on his way to pick me up for seafood at PD. I didn't tell him till I got into the car that we should go to Melaka instead- no sandflies, more food, and generally there are more things to see at Melaka hehe. So he chucked all the maps/addresses of roads and restaurants at PD into the backseat and off we went!

When we reached Melaka it was already late noon. We wasted alot of time finding for a place to park the car and figuring out how to work the parking ticket. Haha. Then at jonkers street, we found this quaint little cafe deco-ed with all kinds of art pieces. Limau limau!

The last time I had chicken rice ball, which was ages ago, I didn't really fancy it. But this time around it was better than I remembered. Or maybe I was just starving.
After filling our tummys, we walked around town, I presume it was town lah. There were so many Mamee adverts all around Melaka! Yes, Mamee Monster! And everytime I saw another ad, I can't help saying MAAMEEE in my monster voice just like those tv commercials in between cartoon segments I used to watch when I was little. I love Mamee btw!
When we went back to jonkers street to find for cendol, I was distracted by the boutiques. Not so much the clothes, but the way the boutiques were made up was really impressive. The littlest touch of vintage at every corner of the place made it really cosy and pretty. Also, one place in particular never seemed to end! It went on and on across the whole shoplot. My mom says those were not really shoplots, but well, it stretched all the way across the other end. And no pictures were allowed in any of the boutiques so this is the only shot I managed to sneak. The mirrors were really cool too! Ok, then we found cendol. Every other place was sold out by 5.
After shopping for food stuff for our families, or really just our moms haha, it was not even dark yet so we stopped by some place to fix my nails and kill time. Very impromptu but so was the whole day! Then later when it was finally dark, with the help of the gps, we found the Portugese Settlement. The amount of cars going in and coming out was crazy! But all the houses were made and litted up so nicely it was quite worth going there. I think. Haha.

Now I think I'll go nap the rest of my Saturday away yay! Hehe. Enjoy the weekends! xx
