fireworks at midnight

I stay in a town with very little rain, barely any wind and alot of sun. Some friends from outside of Malaysia love the sunny dry all year long weather. That of course amazes me, because the rain makes my worst Mondays feel like Saturdays. This Chinese New Year particularly has been scorching hot. It hasn't been raining/drizzling everywhere I've been this past few days. However, there was a sudden random short downpour a few days ago. When I got home I saw what I have been waiting for weeks for at the gate soaked in a puddle of water.

It arrived on the one day there was rain. I think the clouds have a sense of humour.

The bills were so crumpled my dad ironed them out. It was quite a funny sight- my dad ironing, and the pieces of paper on the ironing board. :)

Oh and it hasn't rained since then.

and so trapped was i my whole world caved in

These are some of many snaps I took through the car window in our journey to and fro Terengganu. Just staring and admiring the beautiful clouds all the way takes my mind off things and reminds me of who's looking down and in charge ultimately. For many reasons, I've been feeling pretty sappy lately. So going away to someplace with all sea/clouds/trees/rocks has been really good. I was almost depressed coming back home. It didn't help that we were stucked in a traffic jam all the way back.

Nature has always had a way of reminding me of what really matters when I'm drowned in my own self. I have many other pictures I took of green coconut trees swaying with the wind, high blue waves crashing against the soft soft sand on the shore, beautiful rocks at Chendering. But I'll save that for another day.

Love was God, only He would try
To reach and love one such as I.

ourself, behind ourself

One need not be a chamber to be haunted,
One need not be a house;
The brain has corridors surpassing
Material place.

happy meal

Indomie + bright pink/yellow drinks right after the nerve-rackingly tough P3 test. Happy smiley faces and long funny conversations in a restaurant that electricity keeps tripping. It was a happy meal (dinner)! Literally.

One more day of classes and it's holidays! No early classes/traffic jams/processes to remember for a WHOLE WEEK! Instead, taking its place are cookies/sleep/angpows/beach! Yay! :)

Have a happy safe Chinese New Year!

girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes

Kate Lynn, with a sweet big smile on her face said to me, 'I have a card for you upstairs!' when she greeted me at the main door below the condo. When it was cake time and after they sang 'Happy Birthday', she sang 'May the Good Lord bless you' all by herself to me. I had an amazing birthday celebrated with many different meals with dear family and friends this year. But this precious little girl's handmade card and birthday song is by a mile my favourite gift this year.

When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I'm feeling sad, I simply remember my favourite things, and then I don't feel so bad :)
